Rahmرَحِم Retreat
by Dayat Dahab

At the footsteps of the great Jabal Musa, surrounded by the Sinai desert wilderness, we invite you to rediscover the rites of womanhood through the wisdom of plants with us at the Rahm Retreat.
Next Spring as the valleys of these sacred mountains are reborn, we will gather as women and retreat into the holy land of Musa alay’ salam, to reconnect with the land and it’s creator, Al Khaaliq. This gathering will be a remembrance of Ar Rahman, after whom our Rahm (womb) has been named, and there we will take the space to honour our sacred femininity through herbs, dhikr, nature and sisterhood.
High above sea level, the land of Saint Catherine has a unique flora of highly medicinal plants. To walk through its oasis valleys is to walk through a living pharmacy.

It is here that we will be hosted by Al Karm Ecolodge, a 100% off grid lodge run by a Bedouin family. Here the people have stewarded the land for generations, all the water is from wells and the little energy that is used is powered by solar panels and we will stay in rustic stone houses that are native to the area.
For our stay, there will be only women on the land, allowing us to enjoy the rare opportunity to seclude ourselves in nature with complete privacy.

Who are behind Dayat Dahab?
The Rahm Retreat is the first offering by Dayat Dahab and we thought this would be a good time to introduce you to us, the creators of this retreat for Muslim women to reconnect with God and their wombs through nature immersion and ancestral plant knowledge.
Nura’s big love is the land and her fruits. Growing up in East Germany near great forests, Nura taught herself how to live in communion with the land through foraging and herbal medicine. Nura moved back to the land of her father, Egypt, when she went to work on a permaculture farm, and this is where she met her husband and now calls Dahab her home.
Jasmine is a traditional birth attendant/ doula who grew up in the beauty of Cape Town, South Africa and now lives in Scotland. She trained with Mahdiyyah at Red Tent Doulas and after becoming Muslim decided to work to bring women’s healing and birthwork to Muslim women.
Almost a year ago Nura was initiated into motherhood through the birth of her son in her home with Jasmine as her Daya. It was through this experience (and two trips to Saint Catherine) that we came closer together and decided that we wanted to bring more women together to create a space of womb-healing and peace for Muslim women through connection with the land and herbal medicine.

Our facilitators
We are blessed to have an honourable wisewoman of the Bedouin Jabalaya lineage who will guide us on walks and share with us her depth of ancestral knowledge of plant medicine.
We will also have the privilege of sitting at the feet of Mahdiyyah of Red Tent Doulas who will be leading us in circle on the sacred themes womb health and plant medicine.
